In June 2022, the Surgical Infection Society hopes to gather again in person in Madrid.
We had everything planned to welcome you all to Madrid in 2020 when the pandemic hit. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a great impact in our professional interactions and personal lives. After having to cancel our congress for 2020, we could at least meet virtually in 2021 with an innovative platform, including live cadaver lab workshops, forums, lectures… however, we did miss our on-site congress with our traditional open discussions, friendly atmosphere and opportunities for interaction and networking.
This year, we will hopefully be able to share our passion for surgical infections in person again, always following international health and safety recommendations, travel restrictions, venue capacities and the latest information on COVID-19.
We encourage all our younger colleagues (PhD students, residents), surgical researchers, infection prevention specialist or any professionals related to surgical infection to participate and contribute to our congress. We aim to provide the latest insights and updates in all kinds of surgical infections, and give the floor to innovative research and any clinical work relevant to our daily practice.
We will have the SIS-E Olympics pre-congress workshop, a great educational experience dedicated to young researchers and clinicians, followed by a fantastic 2-day programme with different lectures, interactive sessions, forums and our highly valued free paper sessions. Moreover, the social events will give a unique opportunity for interaction with your peers and the top names in the field, and the vibrant city of Madrid offers so many possibilities for leisure and culture to make your SIS-E 2022 experience memorable!
We look forward to welcoming you to Madrid for #SISE2022!
