General Information









The official language of the Congress is English.

The official language in Germany is German. English is widely spoken in Hamburg, and many people have a command of several other languages.


Hamburg in June is mild with an average temperature of 16°C. Afternoons can be warmer averaging around 22°C while at night it can drop to 11°C.


The Congress will take place during summertime hours and Hamburg is one hour ahead of GMT.

The German currency is EURO (€). Most hotels, restaurants and shops accept international credit cards.


The Conference Organising Committee or its agents will not be responsible for any medical expenses, loss or accidents incurred during the Congress. Delegates are strongly advised to arrange their own personal insurance to cover medical and other expenses including accident or loss. Where a delegate has to cancel for medical reasons, the normal cancellation policy will apply. It is recommended that citizens from EU countries bring with them a current EHIC card.

Certificate of Attendance

A Certificate of Attendance can be printed after submission of the post event online evaluation which you are required to complete after the Congress. You will receive an invitation via e-mail after the Congress.

Letter of Invitation

If you require a letter of invitation please contact the organiser at The Organizing Committee would like to clearly state that the letter is only to help the participant to obtain a visa or to raise travel funds and has no further financial obligations from the Congress towards the participant. The Congress Organizer is only able to send you the letter of invitation after receipt of the complete name and postal address of the applicant and the complete registration fee has been settled.

Passport and Visa

A valid passport is required for non-EU citizens for entry into Germany and the EU. An identity card is sufficient for citizens of EU Member States. Please consult the German Consulate nearest to you for specific details.


An exhibition of will be held during the Congress. Coffee breaks will take place in this area and all delegates are cordially invited to visit the exhibition. Companies interested in taking part in the exhibition can contact Colm O’Grady

Congress Badges

All participants, accompanying persons and exhibitors must wear the congress identification badges. Entrance to plenary room, poster, catering and exhibition area will not be permitted to any person without badge.
